Question
QUESTION: I have a virus or trojan which I am reasonably sure is vundo. I've tried to get rid of it using STOPZilla but it hasn't eliminated it.
Some webpages are redirected (eg. any antivirus website I try) or just blocked. MSN is blocked, sometimes the computer freezes. Windows updates and other MS sites are blocked. System restore is blocked.
I've been reading your answers and tried the HijackThis software (updated today). These are the results...

ANSWER: Hi Danny

Try turning off wordwrap on your notepad settings, because the log format is hard to read spread out like that.  Before you send me another HJT log though, follow these instructions:
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop from here:

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
* then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.  Do not run a scan yet.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode by continuously tapping the F8 key on boot until a black screen with a menu appears.  Choose to Start Windows in Safe Mode.  Log on as usual.  Open Malwarebytes and run a Full Scan.

* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.  Save that log and reboot normally.
* After rebooting, copy and paste to me the Malwarebytes scan and a new HJT scan log.

Hi Danny

Well that certainly helped things, I'm sure!  Still need to clean up some stuff, though.
Download and Install SDFix from here:
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files.


Then run SDFix:

  * Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  * Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  * It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  * Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  * When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  * Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt

Post me the SDFix log and a new HJT log.
