Computer Security & Viruses - Digital Line Detect

Expert: James Filmer - 10/26/2009

Question
Good morning James,

Last night I got this Digital Line Detect error. I ran Spybot and Cleaner then reboot. However, this morning I still have the error (multiple times).

How do I get rid of this Digital Line Detect error?

Thank you!

Answer
Hi Zebbie,

If you have Malwarebytes, SuperAntispyware, or e-squared (free or full versions links on enrgy21.com, you should run a full system scan to make sure you don't have some form of spyware. Spybot doesn't detect everything.

However, based on my research it's very possible its not related to spyware and the error can easily be eliminated:

http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-296183.php  ("digital line detect" program in the startup menu (Start>Run>msconfig"...disable it from startup...)

You could also go to add/remove programs in the control panel and uninstall the detector application...

There's also some discussion about what it is here:
