Question I cannot print. Every time I send a document for printing, I will either see on the printer status '1' for one document and then '0' as if the document has been printed. I've tried different printers, same thing happens. I have 5 computers on the network & two printers. I am getting the same result on all PC's, even if I re-install the printers. I've tried re-installing windows on one of the pc's but I'm getting same result, obviously because it is still connected to the network, which makes me think there's an virus infection on the network. Please help.
Answer Hi Wil,
To verify that it isn't a virus or another threat, try this. Using Internet Explorer, go to:
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp
Click "Continue to Symantec Security Check", in the next window click No when asked if you want to close this window, that will bring you to a window where you should click Virus Detection.
Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to: http://www.symantec.com/search/ and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.
I would also suggest downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from:
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
Hope this helps!
