Computer Security & Viruses/Avast Anti-Virus - Free

Question
Hi!

Recently a program was stopped  by my firewall (Online Armour - Free. )Apparently, it's an Avast Anti-Virus program: "aswrdr.sys -- Avast TDR RDR Driver" -- I've had Avast for about a year and never had this program stopped by my firewall. It's located in cwindowssystem32drivers. I do see this program also listed in: c:programfilesalwilsoftwareAvastsetup - I think that one's okay, but I read if it turns up in windows/system32 file, it could be a problem. So far, I haven't allowed it. Do you know if it's a trusted program? I looked online. Some say it's okay, some say it could be an "imposter." Not sure what it does or if it's a necessary part of Avast Free Anti-Virus. Thanks for reading my question! :-)

Answer
hey elfie

install these two programs (both are freeware and very good!)

SPYBOT & ANTIVIR FREE PERSONAL ANTIVIRUS

update both of them and perform a thorough scan using spyware first and then the anti-virus.

it should find all problems and fix them for you...works perfect for me.
