Question
QUESTION: I have done the hijackThis that will follow. 1 problem my computer runs very slow. I have download free trial to try to fix, and nothing seems to work. Called Charter %26 HP about email problems both blame other. Finally HP said I needed to pay them 99.00 to do some scan. I was reading here and thought I would give this a try first. I am thinking I may have a keylogger, spyware or something along virus on my computer. Sometimes my printer comes on for no reason - while I am not on the computer. Also my games are not loading correctly on Facebook (Yoville, FarmTown, %26 Farmville) The little blue circle just keeps circling for longer than it should. And sometimes my cursor will just go to a different spot on the screen. Please help. Thanks in advance. Because of possible keylogger if I need an indepth answer not for public that is fine to use that email.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop from here:

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
* then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Click to run a Full Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Post me that log and a new HijackThis scan log in your follow-up.

PS. While I was doing the malware scan I noticed a lot of sharing, bluetooth, gaming, & I saw foreign countries (Chinease,Korean, ect.) I am not sure if those are normal, and they went so fast - I could not write down, but they did not get an infected number.
I do not have a bluetooth, nor do I share anything on my computer with others. I do have a facebook act. and I play farmville, farmtown, & yoville. My 7 yr old son hs a couple fish games. That is all for the games played on this computer.

So long as they were not identified by Malwarebytes' as threats, I would not be concerned with unidentified files. Microsoft includes an extraordinary amount of files in it's operating systems for compatibility with all types of hardware and languages, so they are normal.
A few items in your HJT log to go over. Cut down on the number of toolbars in order to increase your computer's browser speed. You have several anti-spyware programs running, but it looks like Norton's anti-virus sheild is not active. Can you confirm this for me? And please also give me an update on how the computer is currently performing.

QUESTION: Brian, On my screen there is the following toolbars.
1. I think it is google (or should be) but does not say.
2. Windows Live
3.Then Favorites Suggested etc. Does not say may be continued from Windows Live.
4. Toolbar Crawler.
I do not know how I got these, nor how to remove them.
As for the Spyware. again I have no clue. Norton free sub expired so then I downloaded Windows Defender. I have no clue about the others, but I know I am getting RegCur messages (haven't done anything with that)& Stopzilla on startup.
I do not know anything about computers other than searching web, email, facebook and my spreadsheet & word processor.
I download very few items frm internet. I purchase most of my products new.

Click the Start button and open your Control Panel. Click on Programs and Features. This will give you a list of programs installed on your computer. Look for the following and click to uninstall them:

Crawler Toolbar
STOPzilla
Spyware Terminator
Paretologic RegCure

Also remove at your option:
Yahoo Toolbar
Windows Live Toolbar

Since Norton is doing no good, you need to remove that as well, but use their free removal tool:

You currently have no up-to-date anti-virus program installed. Windows Defender is not an anti-virus. It is anti-spyware, which will not protect you from infection, such as the ones we have recently removed. I recommend the free Avira Anti-Vir program:

It is an excellent anti-virus which will update itself to keep you protected (it does pop-up a message to buy the premium version, but closing an advertisement once a day is not a lot to ask for free protection). Just make sure you have run the Norton Removal Tool before installing Avira, as you should never run more than one anti-virus program at a time.
You should also keep Malwarebytes' and run a Quick Scan every few weeks to make sure that nothing has slipped through your defenses. Before running the scan, click on the update tab to keep Malwarebytes' definitions current.
