Hi Pam,

If you already have Norton AntiVirus, I would suggest staying with it. Look for a sale price that offers a rebate for previous owners. By doing that you should get it for free or darn close to it.

No matter what program you use, the main thing is to keep it up to date and to run a virus scan at least once a week.

Even though you have Norton installed I would suggest running their free virus scan. Using Internet Explorer, go to:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

Click "Continue to Symantec Security Check", in the next window click No when asked if you want to close this window, that will bring you to a window where you should click Virus Detection.

Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to: http://www.symantec.com/search/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.

After that is complete and you removed any threats that were found, try running the Malwarebytes scan again, that is after you check for and get the updates.

Hope this helps!
