Computer Security & Viruses/Google Search Results

Question
On my home PC I am encountering a problem with accessing Google Search results, or in fact any search engine results. The search results are listed but when I click on them to access the link the screen freezes. The only way to get out of this is through the Task Manager.
If I type the web address in the address bar I can access the site. Also, if I search through anything other than "web", i.e. images, shopping, etc I have no problems access the links.
Running Vista Home Premium and MacAfee
