Question
Hi Lorry,
I ran into a trouble with my Windows Vista and serached the web, the unique hint that I found was your answer to a question in this website in year 2005. But the solution doesn't work for me: I
My problem:

I think I have a virus, but I don't know what kind it is or how to remove it. I've run a AVG full system scan, but it turns up nothing.
When I turn on my computer, it makes a buzzing sound. Then on my desktop, when I try to open an icon, it asks me to "confirm file delete." Also in Outlook, I can't access my inbox messages. They all get moved to my deleted items folder where it asks me if I want to permanently delete them.

I also followed your advice to use online scanning but again nothing was found :(
It is a known virus or what?!
Thanks in advance for your help
and

Answer
Hi Saba,

Am assuming that you ran the free scan from Symantec, correct? I would suggest downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware  from:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Check for updates after downloading Malwarebytes before running a scan.

Let me know if this helps,
Lorry

I can answer most questions regarding viruses/Trojans and help to remove them.

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
