Question
I had another laptop that completely crashed on me for reasons I'm still working out, but I recieved some good help getting rid of some maleware issues from that computer that seemed to have been corrected at an earlier time. only problem is all my most important files and pictures were on 2 USB flashdrives which I didnt put thru the correction process. can you tell me if I can use those flashdrives on my new HP laptop with norton anti-virus? plug them in and run a scan just to be sure?

Answer
hi peter

yes that would be the best option. just make sure that the antivirus is updated and running the latest signatures. it will hopefully find the virus/malware (if any) and remove them from the flashdrive.

pay attention as flashdrives are well known for carrying viruses around and a big headache for systems administrators.
