Question
When I am on the internet my computer makes different noises through the speakers. It started with a door opening and closing, then my kids were watching fred videos on youtube, a few days later out of the blue the guy in the videos comes on the speakers saying oh my god, recently I started looking for horse supplies and now another noise is a horse naying. It does all three noises now the door opening and closing, this kid fred that says oh my god, and a horse naying. It only makes the noises when I am online. Just out of the blue. I have a firewall, online armour, and spybot Im not sure if its a virus but nothing comes up on any of the scans.

Answer
Hi Karen,

Using Internet Explorer go to:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

Click "Continue to Symantec Security Check", in the next window click No when asked if you want to close this window, that will bring you to a window where you should click Virus Detection.

Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to: http://www.symantec.com/search/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.

You might to download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.34 available from:

http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

With Spybot, make sure you check for updates before running a scan.

Hope this helps!

Experience

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
