Hi James,

What is the most effective, free antivirus and antispyware software available out there?

I am currently using Avast Home Edition, Spybot-S&D, Ad-Aware, COMODO Firewall Pro.

Hi Jascha,

Careful with answers from others about that question.

It's "loaded" as in tricky.

Enrgy21.com has links to several sites that provide updated reviews of anti-spyware and anti-virus software.

Tried almost all of the reputable ones. Many are excellent for the average PC user who doesn't want to be a PC security expert. (Experts get more involved LOL).

Reviews provide more than one opinion. Also, many fake ones, knock-offs - another reason for reputable reviews.

If you're not satisfied with what you have, make sure you're comfortable with installing/uninstalling.

Avast, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Comodo are fine, but it's ok to have more than two antispyware apps. (one Firewall and anti-virus only).
Detecting, blocking or removing every form of spyware or virus in an on-going battle. New threats are detected everyday.
