Computer Security & Viruses/antispyware

Question
I have one pc with vista and one xp and our provider gives us mcaffee internet security for free.  What would be a good secondary free antispyware program to run with that mcafee?  I have used adaware free version in past and S&D and I have heard of windows defender but I am not sure what would be my best choice to keep that spyware out.  I notice some programs catch stuff others don't.

Answer
As long as you have the McAfee for free I would keep it for now and not have another anti-virus. However, you can use secondary anti-spyware programs. Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes are rated among the best and are both free.
Spybot- http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Malwarebytes- www.malwarebytes.org

Spybot will provide real-time protection and a Malwarebytes (free version)scan has to be done manually.

When your McAfee free version runs out I would use AVG anti-virus. It is very good (as good or better than McAfee) and it is free.

Let me know if I can help you further.
