Question
Hello! i came home from school yesturday, and i saw that the internet explorer had a new toolbar, i asked who downloaded it and my mom said she did cause it was advertized on myspace. so i went to uninstall it, and it didn't give me any problems, but when i ran the virus scanner (AD-AWARE SE PROFESSIONAL) it showed up that the my web search thingy was malware, and that i should deleate it. But when i told it to deleat it, it said it could not be removed, and that it shall be removed during my next start up. but i remember my aun't computer had one of those things and when she started it up again, eerything in her computer was erased. so now i'm afraid to turn the PC off. what should i do?

Answer
Hi Alex,

Ad-aware SE PRO is a safe program. I would suggest doing what it says.

Another good program to use is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.37 available from:

It wouldn't hurt to download and run a scan using Malwarebytes.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
