QUESTION: Sorry Brian, is windows XP SP2, browser is Internet explore and the message is "ups the link has been broken" and once that message shows immediately opens a new window browser, there is no network (only 1 computer) and is a Hi speed connection (cable modem), thank you for your help

Answer
Hi Al

This error may be caused by several issues.  Let's first try flushing the DNS cache.  Click Start->Run->then type command.  This will open up a black window with a command prompt.  At the prompt, type the following, then hit Enter:
ipconfig /flushdns
Note the space between the g and the /.
After hitting Enter, close the command box and now open IE and see if the internet is working again.
