Question
Dear Lorry
I  appreciate for all of your last responses and your
kindness in guiding me .
If possible help me again. I and my friends have the
following problems:

After press the F3 key to search on windows xp, The search
windows don’t show the search options, I think there is a
Virus in Computer that threats it. I scanned the system
with NOD32 Antivirus. After connecting the flash memories
to my Computer USB port, I encounter with an alert windows
that warns “INF-Autorun Virus” , this message is shown when
I install the AVG Antivirus because I can Download its
updated files. I Installed Nod32 Anti viruses after that. I
have Nod32 Antivirus now on my system. If there is any good
recommend to delete all of my system Viruses .
Please introduce me the good Free Antivirus that I can
Download them and can get their update files separately.
Unfortunately some of  Ant viruses became update  when we
connect to Internet online.
Warm Wishes,
Ali

Answer
Hi Ali,

The following site explains Step By Step Manual Delete 'Autorun' Virus:

Nod32 Antivirus is a good AV program, a bit costly but good none the less. Just checked their prices at:

http://www.eset.com/purchase/

Check out Norton™ AntiVirus 2009 at:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/antivirus

Besides the price, when your subscription is almost up, 2 or 3 months before, look for a sale price that includes a rebate for previous owners. By doing that, you can get it for free or darn close to it. Plus, NAV has better protection than a free AV program.

I would suggest staying away from Norton™ Internet Security 2009 and/or Norton 360™ Version 3.0. Both hog up the system, make it slower and I've seen where Norton 360 didn't/couldn't find a virus, whereas Norton AntiVirus 2009 did. Why or how, I don't know why.

If you want, you can try Norton AntiVirus 2009 for a free 30 day trial, go to:

http://shop.symantecstore.com/store/symnahho/en_US/ContentTheme/ThemeID.106300/p...

AVG and AVAST are both good, free AV programs, but, don't forget, you get what you paid for. No matter which AV program you decide to use, the important thing is to keep it up to date and run a virus scan once a week.

Hope this helps!

Experience

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
