Question
Hello Keith, thank you for answering questions here......I recently got a new laptop and it came with 60 free days of protection from Nortons....my question..do i have to each year buy a service to protect my computer or is it something you buy just once?  Thanks, Eric

Answer
I use 2 different programs for security. Both are free and excellent. For anti-virus I use AVG. It is free and is rated as one of the best anti-virus programs. For anti-spyware I use Spybot Search and Destroy. I have recently started also using Malwarebytes also. Malwarebytes is totally manual where Spybot gives real time protection while surfing the net.
Here are the links for each:
AVG- http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html
Spybot- www.safer-networking.org
Malwarebytes- http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Let me know if I can help further.
