Expert: Keith Davis - 6/29/2009

Question
dear expert,
in my xp 2005, when i open cmd, through run, typing cmd and enter, shutdown windown comes automatically and gives the message of shutdown computer within 49 minute. anyway i avoid the problem by typing shutdown -a. Why this comes? is this due to the virus? how can i resolve the problem? will be grateful.

Answer
You have a trojan called Trojan.Shutdown. Download Spybot Search and Destroy, install, update, and run a scan (check for problems). Spybot should detect the trojan. You can download Spybot for free from here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/

Let me know if it works.

Keith
