Question
I have the basic dial up and am trying to download an updated anti-virus program and about a fourth of the way my server disconnects.I have tried other programs and the same thing happens. What is causeing this, thanks Gene

Answer
HI gene:
There are at least a dozen possible reasons, and as many or more solutions. Did the problem just start happening for no apparent reason, or have you been having this problem for a long time? Is your surfing speed slower and usual? How about your system in general - slower? Please provide as much info as you can.

Are you downloading the anti-virus updates on an already installed application or are you downloading a new program?

If you're using Internet Explorer and having the problem with new applications, let's try an easy possible solution first. Install Mozilla Firefox browser and add the DownThemAll download accelerator: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201 - then download.
