tried to follow  your directions and having a hard time doing any thing after it is in safe mode.

Hi Bernita

If you are able to download the Malwarebytes' program and run it in normal mode, that will be fine.  I ask to do it in safe mode so no other programs are running at the same time.  After you run it, just post me the log and a new HJT log.
