Question
My browser has been hijacked by Fast Browser Search through a tattoo application available on facebook. I have gone through the Remove Program in control panel as well as internet options default browser selection.  I have done small amounts of research into this but I keep coming up on the solutions I have already listed.  They do not work.  Can you help. I am running MS Vista with IE7.  Thank you

Answer
Since I don't know what solutions you've tried, I can't promise to fix your problem. However, here are some suggestions that are highly likely to work.

1. I'll bet you are using IE. Try installing and using the Mozilla browser, free from Mozilla.com, or Opera browser, free from Opera.com.

2. Or you could install Zone Alarm, available from Zonelabs.com. This is more than just a firewall. It also eradicates those unwanted browser plugins.

3. Or you could try a complete Internet security suite such Kapersky Internet Security, which offers a free 30 day trial at http://kapersky.com or F-Secure's Complete Internet security suite, which offers a free thirty day trial: https://store.f-secure.com/cgi-bin/dlreg/ml=EN?ID=FSISTB&desid=TRIAL. However, you have to uninstall you current antivirus program  before trying one of these as antivirus programs conflict with each other can can crash your computer.
