I had norton 360 till about a month ago and the subscription ran out and i lost protection. this computer is not connected to the internet, nor am i able to install the new antivirus software offered by teh army. when i try to do that, it says another installation is in progress. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Joshua,

I would suggest downloading a free 30 day trial of Norton AntiVirus, put that onto a CD and then install on your computer. This is available from:

https://shop.symantecstore.com/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayPage&Env=BASE&Locale=en_US&SiteID=symnahho&id=QCShoppingCartPage

Don't forget to cancel NAV before the 30 days are up, otherwise you will pay for it, that is unless you want to keep it. If you decide to cancel, remove it from the Add/Remove programs, defrag, reboot. Now install an anti-virus program, keep it up to date and run a scan once a week.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
