ANSWER: 1. If you're using the Norton free version, would you mind replacing it with another free antivirus?

2. Would you mind installing a different free firewall? It will require some configuring on your part but shouldn't be too hard.

3. Do you share Windows Media Player songs, videos...with other computers (friends/business)? If not, uncheck this.

4. Do you use Yahoo Messenger? (If not, uncheck)

5. Turbo Tax? (If not, uncheck)

6. Remote Assistance? (uncheck)

7. Quickbooks? (If not, uncheck)

8. Music Jukebox? (If not, uncheck

9. Yahoo FT Server (if you don't share songs/videos through Yahoo Messenger, uncheck)

10.Motivebrowser.exe (uncheck)  http://www.greatis.com/appdata/d/m/motivebrowser.exe.htm

Restart.

11.Windows Live Messenger and Live Phone (If not, uncheck)

12.Kodak Software (If not, uncheck)

Look in AddRemove Programs and see if there are any other Norton applications besides the one you listed. If so, let me know what it is.

Download and install: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

Run a full scan, remove spyware, restart. Do this a second time.

We've tried many things to get your images working again. Since nothing has worked so far, what we're doing is cleaning up the very large security holes and taking off spyware and trojans.

Once we do that, we can concentrate on the image problem again (unless it resolves itself by what we're doing now).

I don't usually ask for HiJackthis logs because it's too time consuming for me doing it for free. However, in your case I'll do it. It's a small, safe tool for analyzing start-up items.

Download and run it: http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html

Copy the log file and send. If you have any problems let me know.

QUESTION: I have a thought about the nonvisible background images. Same goes for some buttons that I can't see but are actually there. Seems that anything floating on top I can see, such as advertisements and pointers.

This reminds me of photography and how negative film looks. Could I have something causing the view to be sort of blanked or inverted?

Anyway, it's just a thought. I'm always trying to figure that one out.

Also, last year I wanted to give it a try at building my own web site. I signed on with HostPapa. But I didn't even get started. The directions I had from HostPapa didn't seem to coincide with what I was seeing on the screen. I asked HostPapa for help but never heard back. I think some things were downloaded in connection with wanting to build this web page.

Answer
Pick a sample page on the Internet in your browser. Press CTRL key and Prt Sc key (upper right hand side) at same time.

Open Start>All Programs>open Word doc (or Wordpad, or Notepad). Click Edit (toolbar) and Paste. The image in your browser should be copied in the doc. Go to File>Send and send to enrgy21 at yahoo.com.

Or, if you can copy and paste it here and send, please do.

Then I can see exactly what it looks like.
