Answer
Reggie,

My favorite is AVG Internet Security, but all of them do what they're supposed to do quite well; detect, block and remove virus, spyware, malicious code, keyloggers and trojans. You have to decide yourself the best one for you. They vary in price and some take up more system resources than others, but each one has a large number of users who believe their software is the best. There are some links to quality reviews on enrgy21.com, and more via your favorite search engine.

About your example - porn sites - http://billmullins.blogspot.com/2009/08/dangerous-porn-sites-tips-on-how-to.html talks about browser addons like WOT, AVG Security Toolbar, McAfee SiteAdvisor and several others not mentioned like CallingID Link Advisor. These addons directly address warning you about whether a website is bad and you should leave and compliment other security applications.
