Question
here recently my buddy got on my laptop and went to a website and ever since he went to that website i cant get back on any website. so i think i should wipe my memory but i dont have the windows xp reboot CD and i would like to do it through command prompt if it is possible.                      thanks ronnie

Answer
Hi Ronnie,

Before doing anything drastic, did you try starting Windows in Safe Mode and use System Restore? To get into Safe Mode, when Windows first starts, keep tapping the "F8" key until given various ways to start Windows, choose Safe Mode. I would try that first.

Another thing you could do is download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.40 from the following site, put it onto a CD, then install, update it - if possible and run a scan your computer in Safe Mode.

eHow explains How to Reinstall Windows XP Without a CD at:

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
