Computer Security & Viruses/AntiVirus Software

Question
James,
Fist I want to thank you for you assistance here! I am a guy who can run computers pretty good but it does not take long before it is beyond my skills!  This may sound as a dumb question but it involves computer AntiVirus Software.  Online I came across a good deal on PC Security Shield software. I bought it due to my existing software being out dated (Super AntiSpyware).  But before I installed my new software I see that I also have Norton Security Scan on here.  Please know that I was not the one that rebuilt this thing! The Norton file seams to be only 1.15kb in size and the AntiVirus is 38832kb. I assume that the Norton and AntiSpywere are doing nothing for me and they should be deleted and the new installed.  If this makes any seance and I am fallowing the right path I would very much appreciate the assistance!!

Hi Troy,

You should uninstall all traces of Norton (including the Security Scan, and also the AntiVirus Software through Add/Remove Programs.

Restart and check to see if they're really gone.

If any Norton/symantec products are still there, use the tool: http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Then you can install and use PC Security Shield.
