I wrote to you before regarding malware and viruses on our desktop computer. We downloaded the disc from the Avira AntiVir Rescue System and followed all directions---the computer now just has a bird picture in the upper left corner of an otherwise blank screen on the monitor and nothing else happened--now what do we do???? Help????

Hi Martha

I have never heard of this happening.  Does the rescue disk boot up at all?  If not, most likely you will need to make a change in the BIOS to allow the CD drive to boot first over the hard drive.  Also, have you tried booting the computer into Safe Mode to attempt a virus scan from there?
