Question
QUESTION: Why am I not able to open videos to watch? I'm in myyearbook.com. The video will not open.

ANSWER: Hi Z,

Would you provide a little more info like: did you always have this problem, or it just start happening for no apparent reason?

QUESTION: I have used music videos on myyearbook and YouTube, and they are working ok. I used movie trailers in myyearbook before but not whole movie videos. When I first tried opening a movie video last night, I got a message saying something about a script from Adobe, and my computer will run slow if I continue to open. Everything then seemed to freeze. I used task manager to delete all windows then reboot. After reboot, Adobe automatically downloaded an update. Then I tried again with opening the video in myyearbook. Did not receive messages this time. Videos just don't open.

ANSWER: I've reviewed their help section about watching complete movies in myyearbook, but couldn't find anything about the subject. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't actually allow you to view whole movies via their site, but through a third party site associated with them.

I'd post the question on their forum:

Here's another one, where you might be able to ask an administrator.

Watching whole movie videos free can be accessed via the home sites of shows on Discovery, Fox, ABC, NBC...

Also, http://www.veoh.com/ and
http://www.fancast.com/ are two of the most popular reputable 3rd party sites. There are a few more you can find using favorite search engine, but keep in mind you'll need to sign up and agree to their Terms of Use.

(Note: check for new Windows critical updates. It may have nothing to do with the videos, but there are some instances where installing missing updates have made a difference)

QUESTION: I sent messages to myyearbook about the problems. Then I went back into myyearbook using Firefox (instead of IE) like you had suggested earlier. When using Firefox, there was a message in the middle of my video screen on myyearbook asking me to click here to download a plugin. I didn't see this message when using IE plus I don't know why my plugin was missing when I just had it a few days ago. I loaded the plugin and Adobe Flash Player installed.

Now I can see my videos and playlist on myyearbook!

I then went into Add/Remove programs, saw the following:

Adobe Atmosphere Player for Acrobat and Adobe Reader (butnot size indicated in the right-hand column)

Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin (again no size indicated)

Adobe Reader 7.0.5 Language Support 33.57MB

Adobe Reader 7.0.9 133.00MB

I also have Adobe Photoshop on my computer.

I was wondering if the two Adobe's with no size given, should I remove those programs?

Also, when I was logging into my yahoo email account just now, I received a warning about an "unresponsive script". The warning allowed me to click yes to continue to see if the script will respond. So I clicked 'yes' and everything seems okay.

The only other thing is that my computer is acting slow again. The computer was behaving like this all day though, and I haven't rebooted yet since I started using Firefox.

Thank you so much for reminding me about trying Firefox!

"The only other thing is that my computer is acting slow again. The computer was behaving like this all day though, and I haven't rebooted yet since I started using Firefox."

Windows has a new critical security update and perhaps it automatically engaged, download and installed itself. Check Windows update, install critical updates (if any are there) and reboot.

"Also, when I was logging into my yahoo email account just now, I received a warning about an "unresponsive script". The warning allowed me to click yes to continue to see if the script will respond. So I clicked 'yes' and everything seems okay."

Nothing on a PC works perfectly 100% of the time. If the problem continues, it could be your Advanced Javascript settings - Tools>Options>Content>Enable Javascript (should be enabled - Java disabled)> Advanced. Then uncheck all boxes in Advanced (read more about the boxes in the Fx Help section).

Adobe. Just leave them for now. Unless you replace Adobe with a comparable Reader like Foxit, you'll likely use Abobe sometimes and probably already have. The ones you listed are a part of Adobe Photoshop - the plugin is for Firefox.
