Computer Security & Viruses/Android for surfing?

Question
Hello Brian -

Since Windows seems to attract viruses, just wondering if an Android-based tablet or smart phone is a better bet for surfing the web.  A related question: are there viruses aimed at Android?

Thanks - Mark

Answer
Hi Mark

Back in August, Android was hit with it's first virus, albeit one aimed at it's Russian users.  However, it's only a matter of time before others appear.  Most of the major Anti-Virus software companies now have versions for smartphones.  As it stands now, Apple has the security edge.  It's iPhone and iPad offer virus-free surfing.  There is an excellent article about smartphone security here:

If you have any further questions, just let me know.
