Computer Security & Viruses/Tracking cookies

Question
Hi, I got a new (refurbished) computer last week and it apparently came with countless tracking cookies. I put norton 360 4.0 on my pc and ran a scan and it erased the cookies, but tne next day I did another scan and they came back. I heard after awhile tracking cookies can ruin your computer so 1 is that true and 2 how do I get rid of them for good?

Answer
Have tried (and like) several excellent cleaners that remove tracking cookies, free (for personal use) and full versions. But, some tracking cookies can only be detected removed by antispyware, and adware applications.

About.com site search, Enrgy21.com and techsupportalert.com - link on Enrgy21.com/tools for spyware free, reputable ones.

Only you can decide the best for you. Try one, or several (cleaner and anti spyware).

About Norton, some popular applications have compatibility issues with it. Norton site and forums may have more information, or search program name compatible with Norton 360.
