Question
QUESTION: Hi. They made me start a new question.     The program wouldn't load. It said 2000 or higher.  -J.S.

ANSWER: Hi Jim

They just changed the program last week.  You can get the previous version, which is ME compatible from here:

QUESTION: Hello. Don't know if if's OK to ask again before you reply, but this morning has brought some reflections and ideas about my computer problems.   In my ignorance I had run SpyBot, got updates, but did not immunize. Last night on the web I got messages and windows to the effect that I had trojans again and something about conflict between IE and Firefox, both of which have been used on this system, and that they were both trying to contol the desktop or something. Some years ago, knowing that spyware was using IE, I switched to Firefox to (I thought) avoid that. I updated Firefox the other day when I got DSL. Maybe a conflict is causing the slowness.   Anyway, I scanned and threw out another list of baddies this morning, THEN ran the immune part (I had updated the other day---today I got an error message and could not). So I went out just now with IE since they seem to be saying that only that is protected. Well, it's still really slow but when I got to Hotmail I was able to write and send e-mail. Now if I can only get the registry and cleaning apps you recommend that will run on this old OS maybe we'll be in business. Also, sometimes I get a "TeaTime caused an erron and will close" message which will sometime take everytings down.   -J.S.

Answer
Hi Jim

Have you run any of these scans in Safe Mode, as I had mentioned in an earlier post?  It seems like the malware is not being removed properly.  Are you running a current anti-virus?  If not, download ClamWin AV from here:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/clamwin/clamwin-0.96.2.1-setup.exe

ClamWin AV is ME compatible.  Once we clean out the nasties, we can work on removing the junk files.
