Question
QUESTION: Hi Brian. Thought I'd give it a few days to see how it went. The Avira program will not update. Whether it tries automatically or I do it manually it goes for a bit then says there was an error updating. This has been happening since the day after installation. What to do? -Jim S.
ANSWER: Hi Jim
Not sure what the problem is, so let's find out from the source. Open Avira and click on Events. You should see some red X buttons in the right panel. Double-click on the latest one. Copy the information from the box that pops up and paste it to me in a reply.

Sorry for the delay in replying. The holidays are wearing me down! Follow the solutions A-F from the following page:

My guess is that there is a firewall or proxy blocking access. Regardless, follow each of those steps then we'll see if regular updates work. Keep me posted.
