Question
I have a "Netgear" wireless router attached to my Dell XP
computer. It is for my son's laptop and also for the XBox. Do
I need to be concerned about security of this router? Could my
neighbor access anything on my computer? What can I do to make
my computer secure in this regard? Thank you very much!

Answer
Hi Jaye,
You are right to be concerned.
There are a few things that you should do. First, change the default password.
Then there are 3 more important things you should consider doing.
Enable your WEP if you have a wireless Router.
Enable MAC filtering to allow only those in your home
Make a SSID name, and do not broadcast it.

Go to your Router's website and check their support. If you have a LinkSys, they have great how to articles.

Hope this helps.
