Question

Print Screen
Hi Larry I use Internet explorer for using facebook. And recently when I tried to login I was instantly redirected to this website:http://kent2006.t35.com/lara.php?charset_test=%E2%82%AC,%C2%B4,%EF%BF%BD,%EF%BF%BD,%3F,%3F,%3F&locale=en_US&non_com_login=&persistent=1&email=&pass=**********&charset_test=%E2%82%AC,%C2%B4,%EF%BF%BD,%EF%BF%BD,%3F,%3F,%3F&lsd=BCZUb
I filtered my password with start as that shows up.

Im able to access facebook through proxys only... But I can access facebook with other computers just as normal so I have worked out it must be some kind of spyware or malware... Im in progress of downloading spybot search and destroy but in the meantime... Apart from the usual change your password have you got any other advice?

Thanks, appreciated Greatly.

Nick

PS I attacked a print screen of the website I am redirected to.

Answer
Hi Nick,

Try typing this in the address: apps.new.facebook.com

Facebook has had their share of viruses also, to verify that your computer is clean run Spybot after you update it, would also suggest using Internet Explorer go to:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

Click "Continue to Symantec Security Check", in the next window click No when asked if you want to close this window, that will bring you to a window where you should click Virus Detection.

Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to: http://www.symantec.com/search/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.

Hope this helps!

Experience

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
