Question
I had many viruses on my computer and had to do a complete restore.  The computer was working very good until the  following is happening when booting up. The rogue malware - AntimalwarePro pops up.  I removed this malware using antimalwarebytes software.
However antimalwarepro keeps popping up.  In addition i am getting a message  EngineAP Engine File(s) does not exist. I can either click OK or x out. Do you know what this message means?
The PC is now booting up.  Please advise

Answer
Hi Mort,

At the following site, download the FREE version Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Make sure to check for updates before running a scan. You might want to run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware once a month to keep the 'nasties' off of the computer.

EngineAP Engine is part of RegistryCleanerPro, is a clone of recent Registry Doktor 2009 and Antivirus Doctor 2009 frauds. Although Registry Cleaner Pro is named like a system optimization tool, it’s actually a computer infection.

Using Internet Explorer, go to:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

Click on Continue to Symantec Security Check. Under Virus Detection, click Start, accept the End-User Agreement. It will ask you a few times to permission to install Active X Controls, answer yes. Once you see that the program is actually scanning, leave the computer alone until the scan is finished.

Once the scan is done, write down exactly anything it finds, then go to:

http://www.symantec.com/search/

and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
