Hello,
My pc keeps popping up a message of "your dns settings have been modified, please update or restore to original settings'.  i have clicked restore but it keeps popping up all the time.  i am also experiencing redirects on searches frequently, please help!

You have some form of malware. It is trying to redirect searches and redirect your web activity. It probably came in on something you downloaded.
Download, install, update, and run a scan with Malwarebytes. You can get it for free from www.malwarebytes.org
You may have to run it in safe mode because the malware may try to block it. Let me know how it goes.
