Question
Hi Lorry,

I would like to know, the AVG, Spy Bot and the Malware that I downloaded for free I would like to know can I download these programs on my other computers that I have and to register every time I download? Thanks, Lorry.

Sincerely yours,

Martin C. Meyer

P.S. How many computers can I download AVG, SpyBot and Malware to?
And again, do I have to register ever time I download a program I downloaded from on to another computer that is on or in my other computer? I do not think so, but if they are on another computer of mine, no, but I do not know now! What I am asking is if I have this program on one computer and I registered on that computer such as I registered with AVG and I want to download AVG on another computer of mine if I can, do I have to register for that computer even if I did register on one computer or register with every computer I download, for example I already registered one computer with AVG.
But as I am thinking can I just download a program save a shortcut or what do you call it I do not remember now, when you download a program and you send a copy of the download to your desktop but it is not the actual program, you have to click on the or this icon to download the program once it is on your desktop, or why don’t I just start all over again on another computer I think that would be best, you think Lorry? Again, thanks you.

Answer
Hi Martin,

Being free programs, they may be installed on any number of computers. The main reason for registering free programs as far as the consumer is concerned is so that you will/should be notified if there is an update available. Regarding the three programs you mentioned, you should update them before running a scan - very important. AVG should update automatically but I would suggest checking for updates before running a scan to make sure.

Personally I have Spybot and Malewarebytes on two different computers and they are all registered - it only takes a few minutes to do so.

Hope this helps!
Lorry

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
