QUESTION: I ran Belarc Advisor on my Dell running XP.It said that I had 63 Microsoft Security Updates missing. I run Automatic Updates daily. Any ideas? Thank you very much!

ANSWER: Hi Jaye

Instead of letting Automatic Updates install the software, go to the Microsoft Updates site itself and install them from there.  One possibility for the missing updates is that you are not running the latest service pack (SP3).  Try the link below:

http://update.microsoft.com/

Hi Jaye

After running Belarc on my own computer, it found 3 missing updates, with one being critical.  The updates do not show up when I run Windows Update, and in fact are not even for my version of Windows.  So I would have to say that Belarc has a bug which needs to be addressed, as I have found other people on different forums with the same problem.  Trust Windows Update on this one Jaye.
