QUESTION: I am a novice.
please suggest to me some free antivirus atleast as

efficient as 'AVAST' FREE VERSION to install on my

computer.I am using broadband and surfing a lot.

at present I am using 'AVAST FREE' which was

installed some 8 months back.Recently one message

appeared on 'avast' that it is outdated and shall

soon expire.Although new updated 'AVAST FREE' is

availaable but one of the computer vendor informed me

that latest version of 'AVAST' FREE antivirus is

ceating lot of problems. whether he is correct

There are two other free AV programs available that are just as good as Avast, AVG and Avira.

Hi Som,

I haven't heard of anyone having problems with Avast. Since you have been using that program, I would suggest staying with it. Whichever one you decide to use, the main thing to remember is to keep it up to date and to run a scan once a week.
