Computer Security & Viruses/Follow up question

Question
Hi Brian,
Youve helped me a great deal last week and it's so greatly appreciated.
In our last correspondence you suggested I download the cccleaner.  I did this but just before hitting the run cleaner button I chickened out b/c it said it showed a list of files it was going to delete and they included; History, MS Office Picture Mngr, Office 2003, Adobe, Windows Defender, Firefox/Mozilla-Internet Cache, Firefox Mozilla-Session, among others.
Is this what I want?  Will it delete my Office 2003 info?  Why is it deleting Firefox as that is the browser I use?  And Adobe?  Dont I need that?
Is it cleaning them or deleting them?
Im uncertain.
The PC seems to be a little better but it has to be up for quite some time before it will respond like it used to.
Thanks again,
Gwynyth

Answer
Hi Gwynyth

CCleaner only deletes the temporary files that tend to slow down computer use over time.  It does not delete the programs themselves, or any personal documents.  Before using it, you can read more about the program here:

http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/

I suspect the slow startup could be caused by the amount of memory, or RAM, that your computer has.  If you want me to look things over and offer recommendations, download the free Belarc Advisor from here:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

It will scan your system and open a browser page with assorted hardware and software info.  NO PERSONAL INFORMATION IS SCANNED.  Right-click the web page and select to Save Page.  Email the page to me directly at numbersix6@yahoo.com.  I'll look it over and offer suggestions for hardware and software improvements.
