The computer is running better (thank you) but it is still sluggish, slow at start up, and the speakers still aren't working.

Thank you for all your time,
Jess

Answer
Hi Jessica

We need to remove the Ask.com toolbar manually.  Go to your Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->then look for any entries with Ask.com toolbar and uninstall them.  I would also uninstall the program Comcast Desktop Doctor.  It's basically a useless program which slows things down.  After uninstalling the programs, restart the computer and run Windows Update from your Start menu.  You should install all security fixes and update to SP3.  After your updates are completed, if your sound is still not working, let me know the make and model of your computer.  I'll check for driver updates which will hopefully fix the problem.
