Computer Security & Viruses/passwords

Question
We just got a new computer with Windows 7 on it. Every time we try to access a page it asks for a password. Like if we go to MSN and try to click on an article to read a box will pop up asking for a password. I checked and there are no parental controls set and only the one user acct. (administer) with no password set for that either.
This wasn't happening at first and as far as I know there have been no changes made to the settings so I don't know what the problem may be.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
Thank you
Karen

Do any appear related to your problem more than the others?
Does it happen only in the browser? If so, are you using Internet Explorer or another browser?

Also, check for critical security updates (Windows) and make sure the latest are successfully installed. Though this is not likely the reason for your problem, it's best to have them when troubleshooting issues, just in case it is a system security vulnerability discovered and fixed in an update. (New updates today).
