Computer Security & Viruses/virus removal

Question
Hi Brian- Stinger is the only security program that keeps telling me that I am infected with C:/Windows32/ATL.Dll Fake Alert Virusless virus. They say they can not remove it. I do get a nasty pop-up periodically and the famous "system tools' page  telling me how bad my computer is. I tried Microsoft Malicious remover, Microsoft defender, Spyware Blaster, Malwarebytes, Avast and Home Trends none showing the infection but Stinget. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks George Kpostick

Answer
Hi George

I will need more information before recommending a removal method.  Download and run the program DDS which will create a log of processes running on your computer:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/dds

When DDS has finished scanning, two Notepad windows named dds.txt and attach.txt will open.  Save each file to your desktop.  In a follow-up to me, copy and paste the text of each of those files.  I will analyze and respond with a course of action.

Brian
