Question
When I open my browser and start using the net, a website keeps opening with a new tab all by itself. It has no specific time duration after which it appears and it seems to b a harmless site. Why is this happening? how can I stop this?

Answer
Hi nikita,

You didn't mention what browser, so I'll guess IE.
Its sounds like you accidentally made you changed your home page with two tabs open at the same time. Since Microsoft does pretty well in explaining how to correct that, here's the link:
http://browsers.about.com/od/internetexplorertutorials/ss/ie7homepage_4.htm

Basically, just have to set your home page with one tab open (whatever you want as home page). If you have a problem with the instructions, or followed them and still have the problem, might be a browser hi-jack, (not always as bad as it sounds, but can always be corrected).

If the problem persists, tell as much as you can like: name and version of browser, anti-spyware, anti-virus and Firewall applications you actually use, on what system, what other applications start automatically when you start Windows, and whether or not you have the latest critical Windows updates installed.
