Question
When I use my flash drive w/o the internet it detects it plug n play but sometimes w/ the internet on it displays a screen stating to install a driver, it this something out of the ordinary possible remote virus or ~?

what windows version are you using? anything newer than windows xp should not be asking you to install a driver. if you are running xp or older windows then it might be the case that you need to provide a driver for the drive.
