Computer Security & Viruses/sound not working

Question
Hello,

I don't really think it's a virus but my sound of my computer is not working at all. I've tried so many diff things from resetting volume defaults, updating the audio drivers etc. But I DID use Combofix to delete some viruses yesterday and ever since the colume hasn't worked so... Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Answer
Are you an expert computer user? Combofix is a good program, but only if you are an expert user, as it it easy to accidentally harm your computer while using it.

Have you tried System Restore? It might be able to undo whatever disabled the sound system.

If that gets the sound system working again, and if you are not an expert at computers, you might be better off installing a complete Internet security suite that requires a purchase, for example the one offered for home users by Symantec.
