Computer Security & Viruses/Remote Access

So I've been looking at programs to Remotely Access my home computer and I've found a lot of options but I can't seem to get clarity on one question; Will these programs let me access my home computer without interrupting what my wife is doing on it? It seems everything they offer completely occupies the computer which is great but I won't always want to do that (In fact it would probably annoy my wife to no end). Can you tell me what I'm looking for?

If you're running a multi user Operating System you can do what you ask.  You need to log into a different account than the one she's using.  I'd use VNC (probably realVNC).  I wouldn't NOT use applications like LogMeIn, Team Viewer, Remotely Anywhere.

Hope this helped.

Securing systems since 1982. Tip: Switching from a system that is (statistically) more prevalent to one that is less prevalent will help.
