Computer Security & Viruses/malware removal
QUESTION: Hi James,
my yahoo home page displays tons of "sponsored" ads from adchoices. Laptop shows it is infected with adchoices under a free scan from spyhunter. Ran malwarebytes but its still there. under firefox it does not show up under extensions or does it show up under control panel to remove programs.
Is there any way to remove this using regedit or a free removal program? O.S. is XP
ANSWER: Hi Tom:
I changed this to Public and hope you don't mind. If you don't wish it to be Public, I'll ask that it be removed. I answer questions for free here to help the public. Thanks for understanding.

Didn't work. Sponsored ads are still there :(
Have you checked "Windows Add or Remove Programs" to see if it's there to remove?
Did you try Spybot Search and Destroy? What else have you done besides Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner?
Are you using your administrator account during your removal attempts?
Please keep in mind your operating system is no longer supported by Windows, and things may not work the way you wish when it comes to ads or security.
On the other hand, don't be fooled into thinking the only way to remove it is by paying for Spyhunter, Stopzilla, Malwarebytes or other application if you're a personal user with one PC.
