Computer Security & Viruses/Computer Virus/System Tray

Question
Notification Tray
Notification Tray
Hi there. I had a virus on my computer, which came bundled w/adware, malware, trojans, etc, and I scanned with SpyHunter, MalwareBytes, SuperAntiSpyware and 2 others (I forgot the names). Seemingly, they are gone. I scanned twice with each one, made sure they were updated and they all came back clean.

BUT...while the viruses seem to have been removed from the system, there are virus icons still visible in my system tray area (Notifications area). How do I remove those?

Seems like they left a lot of residue. Thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Miss S. Wilson

There are a number of ways to resolve your problem, but the following is my first choice for you.

ghacks.net/2010/02/09/remove-old-notification-icons-in-windows-7/

Read the article to understand a little more about the "Tray", then download and install
Tray Cleaner 1.0. (link in the article)

If you have a problem or would like other options, just let me know and provide the system you're on (Windows 10, 8.1, 7...).
