Question
When my Son runs Norton Antivirus 2005 scan it finds nothing, when he runs Ad-Aware Personal SE.BUILD;1.06R1. Norton finds 2 Trojan files that it repaires and 3 Trojan files that even when deleted are still there the next time Ad-Aware is run, We have uninstalled Ad-Aware and reinstalled it with the latest version and updates, but still the same thing happens, any Ideals?

Answer
Hi Stuart,

When you run Ad-aware SE, Norton shouldn't find anything, it's the Ad-aware SE that is finding the files. To verify that there are no viruses on the computer, go to: http://sarc.com/  Scroll down and click on,"Free Online Virus and Security Check" and run the virus check. Write down exactly anything it finds, then return to: http://sarc.com/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually.

What viruses/Trojans are being found? Are you running
Windows XP? If Norton finds anything, from the above site, do a search at SARC.COM for the name of the virus and follow the online instructions for removal.

Are you updating Ad-aware SE before running the scans?

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
