Computer Security & Viruses/Which AV software do you recommend?
Expert: Lorry - 12/18/2005
QuestionDear Lorry,
I have a 5-yr. old 1GHz PC, with 384 MB RAM, running Win. XP Home & SP2. The vast majority of the programs I run are Windows ones, & I do not use macros. Which AV software do you recommend? Its scanning speed is not too important, but it must scan files as they are opened/copied/moved, & it must produce reports.

AnswerHi Simon,
I prefer Norton AntiVirus over anything else. True, you must pay for it originally but after that, look for the sale prices with rebates for previous owners. Check it out at:

You can try it for 15 days for free by downloading it at:

If you want a good, free antivirus program, AVG is good. Check it out at:

Hope this helps!
